Visitors come from around the globe to delight in the Village of Kaslo, nestled on the shores of Kootenay Lake. Kaslo has significant heritage buildings including the "SS Moyie" the oldest passenger sternwheeler in the world.
Visitors to Kaslo also enjoy the excellent fishing, boating, golfing, hikes and magnificent scenery. Others come to Kaslo for the change of pace.
Kaslo Motel offers varied accommodation ranging from three bed cabins to motel rooms, allowing visitors to do as much or as little as they want, while they stay in Kaslo.
The site of the present day Kaslo Motel was the first covered ice rink between Lethbridge and Vancouver until the 1930's. The rink was used for hockey, curling and skating until 1934, when the roof collapsed due to heavy snow falls. The building was dismantled shortly after and the site used as an open-air ice rink until early 1944. The property became "Kaslo Kabins" in 1945, after the cabins on D Avenue were built by Japanese Canadians interned in Kaslo during World War 2
